Officials of the department have said that there has been a shortage of cards used to process national identity cards.
The Commissioner General of Registration of Persons, Mr. Pradeep Saputantri, stated that, accordingly, for the first time, a printed paper will be issued instead of the ID card to those applying for national ID cards.
Accordingly, Mr. Pradeep Saputanthri has further stated that this document is valid for banking and financial affairs, including domestic and foreign examinations.
The Commissioner General of Registration of Persons said that the cards required for the processing of National Identity Cards will be able to be imported by next August.
However, he has further stated that if there is a strong need for someone to get their national identity card as a card, then there is also the possibility of considering such requests.
